Since the COVID 19 pandemic, and as soon we will start having tours again, we organised a new routine to clean the vehicles. All vehicles will be disinfected after every tour
I am born and was raised on Flanders Fields and I spent my life on these battlefields.
I will guide you on the battlefields in the Somme, in France and on the Flanders Fields in Belgium.
You can choose one of our standard tours, we are specialized in full-day and multi-day tours covering most of the battlefields in Belgium and in France. We can also build a custom tour, you supply the detail, we’ll do the rest!
We are specialized in Australian and Canadian battlefield tours but we can bring you to places where New Zelanders, South Africans, or where soldiers of other countries of the Commonwealth fought.
The guides claim a sound of knowledge of WW1, what happened and where it happened, through information and experience gained over 30-years in meetings and discussions with many different historians and authors of the Great War. Claude Verhaeghe (senior tour guide and owner of l’Auberge in Ploegsteert) spent literally months working with Ted Smith, Tony Spagnoly and many others in research.
We use a Mercedes Vito Tourer, 7 passengers, comfortable and fully equipped for tour purposes. We provide high standard service and are flexible. We can bring a walker or a wheelchair to make your tour more comfortable.
I can pick you up at your hotel or train station in Ypres, Bruges, Lille or Arras. If you stay in Paris we can meet in Arras, only 50 minutes away from Paris by train.
I am looking forward to meet you.

Outstanding tour with Claude. His knowledge is phenomenal and he did an amazing job of showing us how the towns of today were battlefields of the past. Claude is an expert driver and we saw some beautiful scenery. Highly recommended for a private or small group tour.
Fantastic tour with the very knowledgeable and accommodating tour guide Claude. Our tour took place despite very cold temperatures and Claude made sure to tailor the tour to our interests and allowed for rest breaks to warm ourselves up between going outdoors. Thanks Claude!
Thankfully we found Claude who gave us two full days of his time, understanding and knowledge of the WW1 battlefields. The vehicle we travelled in was extremely comfortable, and Claude provided the information and sites we would have covered in four days within two days. He picked us up in Lille and was on time, professional, friendly and gave us all the time we wanted at the memorials, cemeteries and museums we visited in the Battlefield tour Australians in Flanders and the Somme. Highly recommended.
We spent 3 days touring Canadian War sites with Claude in Belgium and France. He is a top notch guide. Very knowledgeable, flexible and thorough with excellent communication skills. Definitely worth every penny and we would highly recommend his services. So glad we finally got to make this long planned trip. Thanks Claude!
We would definitely recommend Claude's services. He is an extremely knowledgeable and organised local guide. We took a private two day Australian battlefields tour and was impressed by his insights and stories of the ANZAC troops based in the area. We travelled with four children, from 14 years to a baby, and Claude was very patient and accommodating. He put together the perfect itinerary for our group and my children were thrilled with the summary booklet he provided as a momento. Thanks again Claude!
