Since the COVID 19 pandemic, and as soon we will start having tours again, we organised a new routine to clean the vehicles. All vehicles will be disinfected after every tour
I am born and was raised on Flanders Fields and I spent my life on these battlefields.
I will guide you on the battlefields in the Somme, in France and on the Flanders Fields in Belgium.
You can choose one of our standard tours, we are specialized in full-day and multi-day tours covering most of the battlefields in Belgium and in France. We can also build a custom tour, you supply the detail, we’ll do the rest!
We are specialized in Australian and Canadian battlefield tours but we can bring you to places where New Zelanders, South Africans, or where soldiers of other countries of the Commonwealth fought.
The guides claim a sound of knowledge of WW1, what happened and where it happened, through information and experience gained over 30-years in meetings and discussions with many different historians and authors of the Great War. Claude Verhaeghe (senior tour guide and owner of l’Auberge in Ploegsteert) spent literally months working with Ted Smith, Tony Spagnoly and many others in research.
We use a Mercedes Vito Tourer, 7 passengers, comfortable and fully equipped for tour purposes. We provide high standard service and are flexible. We can bring a walker or a wheelchair to make your tour more comfortable.
I can pick you up at your hotel or train station in Ypres, Bruges, Lille or Arras. If you stay in Brussels I will ask you to catch a train to Kortrijk and after the tour I will bring you back to your accommodation in Brussels. If you stay in Paris we can meet in Arras, only 50 minutes away from Paris by train.
I am looking forward to meet you.

We took this tour with Claude in October 2017 , he was a terrific host and guide. Claude is very knowledgeable and the tour was well organized including lunch . We requested a tour of the Canadian sites in particular, and saw them all with some additions to round out the experience. A very informative and satisfying day. Thank you Claude !
Claude went over the top on this tour. Excellent overview of the north end of the battle lines of WWI. Had a delicious lunch and found a great restaurant in Ypres. Final post (Taps for Americans) in Ypres was moving.
Claude collect us (8) from Lille station and took us our to accomodation in Poperinge. We were collected for a full days tour, Messines, several cemeteries and information centres including a visit to Tyne Cot, Passendale museum the tour ending in Ypres centrum and the Menin Gate. Claude is an excellent guide, with encyclopaedic knowledge of WW1 events. We did this in heavy fog and sub zero temperature which added to the atmosphere We highly recommend him as a group we have a wide experience WW1and WW2 tours covering nine years
We spent a full day touring many important Canadian WW1 battlefields, memorials and cemeteries in France and Belgium. The tour was tailored to our interests and travel schedule. Our guide Claude was terrific! Very knowledgeable, a competent driver who filled the day with an excellent itinerary. In the short time we had we were exposed to well known sites like Vimy and Ypres but also to lesser known sites that tell the story of war torn Europe 100 years ago. Also enjoyed the lunch at one of Claude's favourite restaurants - enjoyed the Wipers Times!
